Great property. Perfect spot to disconnect and relax. Like other poster mentioned, do not plan on using your cell or much wifi - but that makes it a more relaxing stay anyway. Make sure you spend at least one night using the firepit and some time in the hot tub, even in the cold winter! About 25 minutes to downtown Asheville.
My wife and I met friends and spent 3 great nights and days. The cabin had everything we needed, we ate in three nights, including cooking beer can chicken on the grill in the rain. Cabin was very comfortable, clean and what we liked most - quiet. Would return!!
It was refreshing to have a cabin that actually gave you more than the picture offered. We enjoyed the breathtaking view of the French Board River and the special amenities that you don't receive everywhere you travel. The living room furniture was not comfortable, but everything else was perfect. My family really enjoyed this enchanted cabin.
We brought our 11 week young baby over the rope ladder to the cabin and we all slept like babies. Sitting by our camp fire watching the river flow, we connected like never before. This is truly a beautiful place. Thanks for that!
We so enjoyed our stay in your Log Cabin over New Years on the French Broad! It was so quiet and peaceful! And one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in! Thank you! Loved it! And thanks Liz for letting us use your crock pot!
Spent 3 nights here with my best friend. This place is amazing! Loved the river views, large grounds to roam, hot tub and balcony's. We really enjoyed the fire pit and making smores under the stars. We waded out into the river and loved being at the river's edge. It was fun going out to the Tom Sawyer island to explore across the walking bridge. The owners live right next door and couldn't be nicer. They made sure we had plenty of firewood and anything we needed. We made breakfast every morning with fresh eggs they provided. It's a short drive into Weaverville for fine dining, shopping or anything you might need. Drove to Hot Springs and walked along the Appalachian Trail. We travel a lot and this place is very special. Can't wait to return.
We so enjoyed staying here. We were here for a family wedding. The cabin is close to everything that Asheville has to offer, yet secluded enough to feel we were on our own private oasis. The cabin is well appointed and was very clean and well kept. We had 4 adults and one toddler and it was perfect. The upstairs room, "the nest" had a fantastic view and we really enjoyed the bird feeder which was host to several varieties of birds. The downstairs also had great views of the river and a cozy living area with a gas fireplace that we enjoyed every evening.
Liz was a great hostess - even leaving fresh farm eggs (DELICIOUS) and a S'mores basket. How thoughtful! And, we even borrowed a stick of butter from them so we wouldn't have to return to the store - THANK YOU!
The property is gorgeous and we especially enjoyed the fly fishing (although no luck in catching anything), the suspension bridge with an island to explore, and our grandson found his first frog.
It was absolutely perfect for our long weekend trip. We highly recommend visiting the Biltmore!
Don't plan on having continuous internet service - it is rural. But, isn't that why you choose a location like this?
Perfect! We will definitely be back if our travel plans bring us to this area.
Thank you!
The beds were comfortable and the cabin was clean. The owners are very friendly and right next door. We loved the fresh eggs and our toddlers loved playing outside in the spacious grass. The bathrooms are nice and the upstairs room is like walking into a spa. It's very nice with a private balcony and beautiful views. We enjoyed our stay. It took about 30 minutes to get to the biltmore estate.
I stayed here over thanksgiving with my husband and 10 month old daughter. The cabin was perfect. Everything was well maintained with little extras all over the place, basket of s'more making material, tray of toiletries in case we'd forgotten any and a Kuereg and filtered water station upstairs. Beautiful location and just a short drive to Asheville. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching the river.
We recently spent a weekend at this wonderful cottage on the French Broad River. It is loaded with things to do such as relaxing in the hammock, tubing on the river, and watching the sunset in the hot tub. If that's not enough for a relaxing weekend you can head to Asheville which is a short ride away and enjoy the sights as well as the wonderful food and service. Liz was a gracious host with tons of information about the area and tips on things to do. The house was very well maintained with beautiful hand crafted wood furniture and attention to detail. We will be returning soon!
