ASHEVILLE PRIVATE ISLAND CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS

Americana Cabin

Riverside Escapes offers an adventure cabin rental on the island and a more modern rental on the mainland. Our Island Retreat is designed for the adventurous. Located on a small private island in the river, Americana Cabin is an old fashioned one room cabin.

This rustic retreat provides the ideal quarters for fishermen, authors, bikers, hikers and the free spirited looking to get close to nature… but not too close!

A big step above tent camping, cabin stay means days of fishing, cooking over the campfire, and bathing in the rain barrel shower.

Nights are spent safe and warm in the cabin by the wood stove sleeping in a cozy bed. Rustic but clean. Remote but accessible.

Perfect honeymoon

Thank you Liz and Paul for a wonderful honeymoon at your sweet little cabin. We can't imagine a more perfect place to start a marriage. It was a much needed break from the day to day grind. Nature therapy! Absolutely beautiful property. Many thoughtful details in the cabin. Owners have thought of every detail to make this a relaxing escape for their guests. We were greeted with a basket of s'mores and a honeymoon goodie bag - thank you guys! We can't wait to get back! Highly recommended.

Wonderful views and extremely relaxing!

My wife and I stayed for three nights on this cozy island and loved every minute. The only drawback was that it was so relaxing and beautiful that each time we went to Asheville, we wanted to go back to the cabin so we ended up seeing very little of Asheville. Highly, highly recommended.

Exactly what we were looking for!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was the perfect combination of rustic charm and modern convenience, therefore, satisfying myself and my husband! The river offered a peaceful backdrop to our campfire and live entertainment with the Blue Heron's daily visits. Our plan was to use the cabin as our home base for trips into Asheville and some day trips, however, we found ourselves anxious to get back and just sit around the campfire! We can't wait to come back.

Unique Rental

We were looking for a unique place to stay in the Asheville area and found it! Even with the cooler weather, this place was still comfortable and fun. We really wanted to relax away from our computers, phones, work, etc. and this was perfect.

My husband and I enjoyed our fires in the pit every night and loved the sound of the river rushing by. The cabin was just as described in this listing and although the property is "away from it all" we still drove into downtown every day and it didn't seem far at all.

Relaxing & Rewarding Rustic Retreat

We stayed at the Americana for five days, using it as a home base to hike, whitewater raft, and enjoy Asheville. We're on the younger side, and felt the amenities were perfect for a low-tech, basic retreat (yet extremely comfortable for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing). The owners were gracious and instructive, and it felt wonderfully remote from our busy lives. Couldn't recommend more highly for anyone who enjoys rustic mountain living.

Pure Serenity!

What a relaxing, fun experience!! Absolutely loved the rustic cabin....the bed was super comfortable! Sitting on the porch watching my hubby fish, enjoying the hummingbirds that came to visit, tubing, campfires, relaxing on the hammock.....couldnt have been more relaxing and refreshing! Our wonderful hosts provided everything we could have needed and some very sweet extras! We can't wait to go back!

Roughing It!

What a cute place!!! Really enjoyed my time in this cabin. It was very cozy and romantic. This was roughing it a bit since the water was pumped from jugs, an incinerator toilet and outdoor shower. The shower was a bit cold even after pumping it for a while, but that is what happens when it gets cool in October. Liz and Paul were kind enough to allow me to shower in their home since it did get chilly, but I roughed it and managed without inconveniencing them While, this all may sound negative, it truly wasn't since this was all advertised and part of the true 'one with nature' theme. There is nothing I would have changed about this trip. It was a couple steps up from camping with an AMAZING location. While it was a bit from Asheville, it was totally worth the drive for the location. Hearing the train along the french broad river did wake us up in the nights, but we actually really enjoyed that. We used the fire pit to cook our meals and made good use of the stove to keep warm. Also, there were heating pads in the bed which were lifesavers!! The touches they added to this cabin made us feel right at home. They even left our dog some treats which was so nice! We had a great time!!! Hope to see you again, maybe in summer!!

Perfect getaway !!!

Ok so I must say I am not necessarily the "outdoorsy" type but this place was perfect! If you enjoy a nice campfire and the sound of the river and some relaxation!!! We will definitely come back here , the toilet is different and the outdoor shower can get a little cool but the feeling you get after a long weekend here is well worth it! It is far enough out to be secluded but close enough in to visit the Biltmore and downtown Asheville! The owners are very easy to work with and very thoughtful having smores and eggs at our cabin waiting on us! Definitely worth it!! Thanks so much for a wonderful long weekend !!

Wow, If you are looking for a place to unwind, this is it. Sitting down by the river enjoying a cup of coffee first thing in the morning was absolutely wonderful. Clean comfortable cabin . I highly recommend it for a romantic getaway.
